The Situation
Just a quick how-to this time around. A friend gave me a USB thumb drive formatted with the exFAT file system. FAT only supports up to 4GB and this was a 16GB drive. Why they did not use NTFS is beyond me. Anyway, I run Ubuntu 18.04 at home and needed to read from the drive. Lucky for me FUSE and exfat-utils exist. A quick terminal command as follows…
sudo apt-get install -y exfat-fuse exfat-utils
…and I was of to the races. Right clicked the drive, clicked ‘Mount’ and the drive was readable. Nice.
